Ogun TRACE Corps Commander Receives Excellent Performance Award At LASU

By OLALEKAN AYENI – Wednesday August 17, 2022, will forever remain a remarkable day in the history of Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Cdr Abdulfatai Olaseni Ogunyemi, as he received an award of excellent performances in road safety management at Lagos State University (LASU).
He was honoured at LASU School of Transport and Logistics, alongside with First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr Gbenga Dairo; Barr Mfon Usoro; Dr Banye; Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) and Kuehne Foundation.
Cdr Ogunyemi was rewarded by the citadel of learning based on his immense contributions to the growth of transport management in the country.
He dedicated the award to Ogun State Government, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) where he began his career as traffic management officer in 1988, and to Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA).
Lecturing on a topic “The evolution of transport, congestion and traffic management in metropolitan Lagos, Dr Taiwo Salaam, said the only way to eradicate traffic gridlock in Lagos State and Nigeria at large is total compliance to traffic rules; attitudinal change towards use of roads; periodic stakeholders’ forum; policy review on safety, security, physical and urban planning; vigorous public education and enlightenment, among others.
He identified most factors affecting transport system and mostly causing traffic congestions to be bad attitude towards the use of roads, disobedience to traffic rules, government policy and constitutional constraints.
He urged the road traffic management officials to double efforts in finding lasting solutions to all factors affecting transport system in Nigeria.
