Three Die In Multiple Crash At Ogere On Lagos-ibadan Expressway

Three persons (all male) have confirmed killed in a multiple crash that occurred in the early hours of today at Mile 12 market, Ogere, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The crash according to a press statement by the Ogun State Sector Command’s Public Education Officer, Superintendent Route Commander Florence Okpe, occurred at about 3.15am involving three vehicles a Micra Car with registration number BDJ257XF, Truck – T4916LA and a truck with no number.
The statement revealed that a total of seven persons were involved which comprised of one female adult and six male adult. Three persons among them have died while others rescued unhurt.

The suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed and dangerous driving on the part of one of the truck who was trying to negotiate a turning point and the other truck coming from Ibadan with high speed rammed into the vehicle.
The crash is obstructing the highway meanwhile traffic has been diverted and FRSC personnel are still on ground managing the situation and how to remove the obstruction away from the road.
The Ogun Sector Commander, CC Ahmed Umar, reiterated on the dangers of speed especially when visibility is poor.
He also caution motorists on night travel pointing out the dangers associated with it, while advising motorists to drive cautiously, avoid speed, obey traffic rules and regulations.
The Sector Commander commiserated with the family of the crash victims and advised them to contact FRSC Ogere for more information about the crash.
