2021 ROAD SAFETY/WORLD REMEMBRANCE DAY FOR RTC VICTIMS: Ogun FRSC Recommends 50km/hr at Construction Zones

By OLALEKAN AYENI – The Ogun State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) CC Ahmed Umar, has again reminded the motoring public that the recommended speed limits at the construction zones is 50km/hr according to global best practices
He disclosed this as FRSC, in compliance with African Union and United Nations Resolution join other countries to commensurate this year’s edition of rememberance of all those who lost their lives through Road Traffic Crashes (RTC) and also to sensitize the living on the need to curtail the excesses of RTC.
CC Umar said the theme for this year’s edition of Road Safety Day and World Day Rememberance for Road Safety Crash Victims is “Act for low speed/act for low speed streets” with the slogan “remember, support, act”.
“I on behalf of the Management of FRSC, commiserate with the families and loved ones of the victims of Road Traffic Crashes who lost their lives, wishing the lost souls continuous rest in perfect peace, I, also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured ones.
“I, wishes to remind the motoring public that the recommended speed at construction zones is 50km/hrs according to global best practices.
“Motorists should always maintain safe speed, avoid night travels and enjoy quality road experience. FRSC wishes all Happy Motoring to year 2022 and beyond,” CC Umar, added.
