FRSC Ogun Command Decorates 174 Newly Trained Special Marshals

The Ogun State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has inaugurated no fewer than 174 newly trained Special Marshals from Gateway International Breweries and general public to continue strengthening its mandate of improving safety on the roads.

They were decorated with Special Marshals’ regalia after administering the Oath of Allegiance by the staff officer RS2Hq Zonal Legal Officer, CRC Stephen Ichukwu.

The event, held at Gateway International Brewery main Hall, Siun in Owode Egba Local Government Area and Ogun Sector Command Special Marshals Hall Abeokuta, the state capital.

In attendance are Ogun Sector Commander, CC Akinwumi Fasakin;  RS2 Zonal Coordinator of Special Marshals, Elder Solomon Adeniyi; State Coordinator (SM), Balogun Taiwo; Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Dr Adeoye Odedeji; Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Water Corporations, Eng. Maku and Gateway International Brewery Plant Manager, Engr Akintayo Oguntunde.

In his induction speech, CC Fasakin, enjoined the newly inducted Special Marshals to be committed, serious and responsible in the course of complementing the efforts of the regular personnel in achieving the Corps mandate.

He underscored that all activities of the Corps remain regimental and services to humanity. He brought them to lime light of olden days of Maja-Maja in Oyo State, to let them understand that Special Marshals are not left out in the history of FRSC, urging then to remain good ambassadors who will always promote the image of the Corps.

“Both Regular and Special Marshals of FRSC are expected to show humility, control and avoid sharp practices. “Do not undermine the rules guiding our operations, it is incumbent on all of us to work within the ambit of the laws guiding us. We are under oath to deliver on our mandate,” CC Fasakin, added.

Also speaking, RS2 Zonal Coordinator, Elder Adeniyi, charged the newly decorated Special Marshals to exhibit discipline while contributing their time and resources with total submission to authority, urging them to abstain from bribery and corruption.

In his welcoming address, Ogun Coordinator (SM), Balogun, appreciated the newly decorated Special Marshals for showing interest in road safety. He encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the Corps while discharging their duties and encourage them to always read Special Marshals guidelines for them not to be misguided. He thanked everyone present and appreciated for gracing the occasion. The event came to a close with vote of thanks by the Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.
