Ogun State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said it has observed low compliance of installing speed limiting device in commercial vehicles moving on the roads across the state.
The state’s Sector Commander, CC Akinwunmi Fasakin said excessive speed has been identified as a key risk factor in road traffic injuries and fatality in most crashes that occurred on the road.
He, therefore, admonished vehicle owners to install Speed Limiter in their vehicles and adding that any driver apprehended for non compliance would have his vehicle arrested and be forced to install the device before the vehicle be released.
“FRSC core mandate is to ensure safety on roads, therefore, it is mandatory for commercial drivers to approach accredited vendors and install the device in their vehicles,” CC Fasakin, added.
