Effective Management: FRSC Urges Motorists To Embrace CNG As Alternative Energy

The State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has advised motorists to embrace the use of Compressed National Gas (CNG) as an alternative energy for effective management and reduction for fossil fuels.
FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Anthony Uga, gave the advice during Zonal sensitisation programme on Friday at Bezer Hotel in Ota.
Uga said CNG contribute immensely to depletion of ozone layers globally.
He added that the continuous burnings of the fossil fuels would lead to untold negative effects of global warming the world experienced hitherto.
“The essence of the sensitisation exercise is to create awareness for motorists and stakeholders so that they can embrace and adapt to the benefits associated to CNG,”he said
The sector commander, noted that fossil fuels emissions accounted for 21 per cent of global carbon emissions which are usually generated from trucks and articulated vehicles.
He added that CNG is more economical and more environmental friendly, while
canvassing for the public’s Non Motorized Transportation means like Cycling (NMT) shows how it also helps to maintain the health status.
Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation, Eng Gbenga Dairo, commended the Corps initiative for sensitising the general public on the need to curb carbon emissions in the state.
Dairo, represented by Eng. Hassan Bamidele, said that Gov Dapo Abiodun, had purchased CNG buses for the usage of residents in the state.
He also revealed the Governor’s plan for Private Partnership for E-mobile programmes with E-stations in furtherance to curb the carbon emission challenges in the State.
The two facilitators from Green Fuel Limited, Messrs Harikrishnan Perumal and Bolaji Oyedeko, responded with illustrations of how the CNG gas is more safer in incidence of explosions.
They stated that the company is willing to partner with organisations and group of companies, who wish to establish CNG gas stations within their premises for easy access.
Also speaking, Eng. Oluwatoyin Olugbenga, Vehicles Inspection Zonal Commander, Ota, urged stakeholders to utilise the given information.
He urged them to key into the initiative for its multiple benefits and global pursuits to eradicate fossil fuel emissions damages.
Prof. Abiodun Adebayo, Vice Chancellor, Covenant University, supported the advocacy for alternative energy solutions to global warning and called for the engagement of all motoring public for the initiative.
Adebayo, represented by Dominic Azo, enjoined government and stakeholders to make it cheaper for easy access through pricing. (NAN)
