Community Sends SOS to Gov Sanwo-Olu Over Promised Demolition Of Ajasa/Isoto Market

Under what seems to be palpable fears, The Ajasa/Isoto Community market members and their executives are making a Clarion cry to the amiable Governor of Lagos state,His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu over teams of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA)and some unidentified groups of people’s constant visits to their market located at Isoto Area, Ajasa along Command road under Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA Lagos.
Their cry was at the instance of information gathered from some of them who came to the market place with notice of demolitions having alongside with them groups of people identified as Chairman and other members of Katangowa second hand products market showing them the Ajasa market space would be relocated to them to occupy.
According to the Ajasa/Isoto market chairman, Mr Rilwan Ahmed, added findings at Lagos assembly complex when visited with the complaints,one official who spoke with us revealed and we further gathered that the Ajasa/Isoto market location was not among the gazette location pinned down for Katangowa market reallocation but that Amikanle location was actually the site scheduled for Katangowa market people, he stated that one of the Honorable member appeal for a week-time stay for him to feed the troubled market members back on the outcome of his actions about the livelihood threatening moves of the agency.
Meanwhile,while our cry to the district head of LASBCA Mr Kola Williams, covering Alagbado district office which is located at Moshalasi,Lagos Abeokuta road met deaf hear,he directed them to Ikeja GRA head office to tender their complaints added he was just acting on directives given from the head office for both notice and awaiting demolition papers pasted to the market.
We have since visited and written to the head office on the demolition notice and our alleged reallocation information of Katangowa market gathered to the LASBCA’s office headed by Eng. Owodunni Oki on this.
While we also have evidences of instigated moves of the Bale of Isoto,Chief Akanbi Alayo,aka ‘Moshood Afariogun’ being a Chief masterminder of the market demolition at our disposal. In one of the agency’s visits in company of the Isoto Bale, he was heard and seen by one of our members giving instructions to the officers to ensure they have a complete demolition of the market. We have no issues whatsoever with the Bale and want Lagos state authority, stakeholders and well meaning Nigerians to please intervene in our situation.

We are therefore making a candid appeal and crave the fatherly interventions of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to rescue us from this intended damage for we have no other means of livelihood if our market site is destroyed and reallocated to others. He concluded emotionally.
