FRSC ‘ll Find Solutions To Number Plate, Driver’s Licence Scarcity  – Corps Marshal

2 min read
The Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has said adequate measures have been taken to address issues associated with the current scarcity of number plates and driver’s licences nationwide.
The FRSC boss disclosed this on Thursday, June 6, 2024 while inspecting the Corps strategic facilities in Wuse, Kado and Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Mohammed commended the Federal Government’s investment and President Bola Tinubu’s administration for enhancing the Motor Vehicle Administration in the country.
The FRSC boss said he would soon meet with the Joint Tasks Force (JTF) and other partners to address the challenges of production and distribution of the agency’s products and services.
“Within the few days I assumed office, I received a series of complaints from the general public concerning the National Driver’s Licence (NDL) office. We are not unaware of their pains and suffering, that necessitated our on-the-spot assessment of the uniform licence care facilities in FCT.
“We have visited the NDL centre in FCT. We have visited the print farm where the licences are being produced and we are here at the plant where number plates are produced. Equally, we have identified the problems. The problems are in two categories. We have both the internal and external problems.”
“The internal problems are more administrative, and we have set up administrative measures and processes to tackle them so that we can reduce the public sufferings. The external problems are more technical and financial.
“We are going to sit down with our technical partners and our supervisors to fashion out how to find solutions to all those problems,” Mohammed, added.
The FRSC boss maintained that the new administration would highlight new initiatives that would improve traffic management across the country.
