FRSC Ifo Command Educates Children On Road Safety Tips

In the bid of continuing catching the children at younger age and ensuring their safe are safe while on the road, Ifo Unit Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has organised training on road safety tips for school pupils Tofem College Atila Agbado, Ogun State.
The event, which held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 was part of the command’s activities to mark Children’s Day celebration. The pupils were enlightened on safety tips while using the road, in the car, rudiments of crossing the road and importance of using the pedestrian bridges when crossing the highway.
Assistant Route Commander (ARC) Caroline Bello who represented the Unit Commander, ACC Uten Meeme at the event, said: “If we catch the children young at this age, I’m sure the road will be more safer for them. She described children as most treasured possession on earth.
She hinted that the training was designed to catch the children young and create a safer motoring environment, adding that the safety tips would continuing educating the children about the rules and regulations that guided the use of roads.
“Road crash has identified as the second leading cause for death of children and young adults in Nigeria and the world generally.”
She advised the pupils to always careful when crossing the road and that they should encourage their parents to use seat belt, avoid driving against traffic, driving under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, and not speed whenever they are taking them to school or wherever.
The pupils were happy and feel free to asked questions as regards to road safety.
