EASTER: TRACE Begins 24hrs Operational Patrol On Ogun Major Roads

2 min read
In its bid to ensure safety and sanity on the road during the Easter celebration and beyond, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), has commenced 24 hours special operational patrol across the state with the theme: “Safe and Responsible Driving…a Must for all”.
The exercise, according to a release from the TRACE Commander/Chief Executive, Cdr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi, is to ensure effective traffic management, timely clearance of obstructions, prompt rescue/emergency services on 24hrs basis and collaboration with other safety/security agencies on Ogun major traffic corridors including the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; Interchange-Sagamu-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway; Sango/Ota-Atan-Owode-Idiroko Highway; Atan-Lusada-Agbara-Badagry Highway; Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun-Interchange Expressway; Abeokuta-Ewekoro-Ifo-Sango/Ota Expressway; Rounder-Abeokuta-Olorunda-Ayetoro-Imeko-Ilara Border amongst others before, during and after the Easter celebration.
The operation which commenced on Wednesday, 5th April, 2023, through Monday, 17th April, 2023, will involve the full deployment of TRACE operational resources to man strategic beats and choke points along the Ogun 12 major traffic corridors, particularly the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where reconstruction work has reached the last phase, to check the excesses of recalcitrant motorists, considering the fact that the Easter celebration will generate heavy flow of human and vehicular movement, which may bring about attendant traffic build-up, breakdown of ill- maintained vehicles, obstruction and road traffic crashes.
The release further directs Commanding officers to ensure that TRACE operatives are presentable, civil, professional, fair and firm, where and when the need arises, in the discharge of their duties, for the safety of the general public, particularly the motoring public to be guaranteed.
While wishing Christian faithful Happy Easter Celebration, the TRACE boss enjoined all road users to observe strict compliance to traffic rules and regulations because any vehicle contravened for any traffic infraction(s) during the celebration would not be released until Monday, 17th April, 2023, when TRACE would have ended  her Easter Operation Order.
