ACM Adeleye Resumes Office As Zone RS2 Commander Of FRSC
2 min readAssistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Rotimi Adeleye has officially resumed office as Lagos and Ogun Zonal Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
He is to coordinate and supervise the operations of the zone as the 23rd zonal commander.
ACM Adeleye took over the baton from Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Peter Kibo (retd) who served the zone between 2020 – 2023.
The road traffic mayor, who is a pioneer member of the agency and computer scientist has served in different leadership positions in the Corps with a wealth of experience among were: Head of Computer Department in 80s; Sector Commander in Ondo State; Head of IT and SAP in Headquarters; Zonal Commander in Zone 12 where he was posted back to RS2 Lagos as Zonal Commander.
Speaking while inspecting Lagos Sector Command, said the agency would not relent from its zero tolerance on road traffic crashes. “The Corps had concluded plan to establish more unit commands, possibly, expansion of area commands as part of the strategy to bring road traffic crashes to the bearest minimum, if not total eradication.
“To compliment the strategy, this zone has ready to put much pressure on Ogun Command because of the proximity of highway between the state and Lagos. There is no doubt that Lagos axis has the highest vehicular movement in the whole federation.
“The zone has ready to deploy more personnel and operational vehicles to enhance visibility in all the critical corridors. Visibility reduces road traffic crashes, because the drivers will be highly cautioned knowingfully well that they will see FRSC personnel on every 10 kilometers on highways,” ACM Adeleye, added.
He said FRSC will never desist from enforcing the installation of speed limit device on vehicles, especially on commercial vehicles because excessive speed and overloading have been the major factors causing road traffic crashes, saying fatality always much in commercial vehicles than private should any crash occurred.
The Zonal Commander, appreciated the Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu for approved massive promotions of staff, urging the personnel to reciprocate the affection through more dedication, focusing, efficient and effectiveness to duties.
He appealed to motorists and other road users to give chance for sanity to reign on the road during the election period and beyond.
