Ogun AAC Governorship Candidate Warns Gov Abiodun Against Intruding In Ibu Kingdom Obaship Tussle 

The Ogun State African Action Congress (AAC) Governorship candidate, Hon Adeyemi Harrison, has warned Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, not to intrude or overrule the processing of kingmakers in selecting the new Oba of Ibu Kingdom in Abigi (waterside) Local Government Area of the state.

The governorship candidate stated that the governor should leave the Olisa, (Head of chiefs of Ibu Kingdom) to continue ruling the Kingdom pending when Kingmakers will select the appropriate candidate among the obaship aspirants, instead of imposing warrant chiefs on the ancient Kingdom of Ibu.

He said the Kingdom has been without Oba since the demise of the late monarch in 2019, noting that the governor has never said anything about the kingdom and there was never any record of obaship conflict in the Kingdom.

Adeyemi Harrison who is from Ibu, said, “Ibu Kingdom is not a Baale elevated Kingdom, but an ancient kingdom with deep historical background and compounded traditions which will not allow kingmakers to enthrone anybody to the position of an Oba, if they do, repercussions of natural disasters is imminent.

“Our people have a strong belief and respect for their culture and traditions, which cannot be jeopardised by any means”, he added.
