Court grants NURTW chieftain ‘Kunle Poly’ N1b bail

A Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba,  Lagos, has granted a
N1 million bail to Azeez Lawal popularlly known as Kunle Poly, the Lagos Island Branch B chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Kunle Poly, 48, was charged alongside Adekanbi Wahab, 38.
Chief Magistrate Linda Balogun noted on Monday that a prima facie case had been established against the defendants, according to the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
According to Balogun, Lawal is to be tried for accessory after the fact to murder while Wahab will face trial for membership of an unlawful society.
She added that the DPP advised that three other defendants, whose names were mentioned in the advice though they were charged separately from the two defendants, should be discharged.
