JUST IN: Four Die, 12 injured In Fatal Crash Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
1 min readNo fewer than four persons have been confirmed dead, while 12 others sustained degree of injuries in a fatal crash that occourred today, Tuesday – January 18, 2022 at Oniworo turning, Fidiwo along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
The crash, INFORMATION CARRIER learnt occurred at about 10am (10:55hrs) and it involved a Mazda bus with registration numbers
APP111XM and a Howo tanker with no registration number.
It was further learnt that a total of 16 persons were involved which comprises of 13 male adult and three female adult. 12 persons were injured (nine male adult and three female adult. Four persons were recorded died (all male adult).
The suspected, causes of the crash according to Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Enlightenment Officer, Superintendent Route Commander Florence Okpe, was excessive speed and loss of control.
The injured victims have been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere and Idera Hospital Sagam while the bodies of the killed were deposited at FOS Ipara.
The Ogun State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) CC Ahmed Umar, while commiserating with the victms’ families cautioned motorists on speed violation.
