LASPEC Director-General, Babalola advocate success through synergy to staff
2 min readThe Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has organized a three days retreat programme themed: ‘’Success through Synergy.’’
While declaring the retreat opened, the Commision’s Director-General, Mr. Babalola Obilana, appreciated the loyalty, commitment and hard work being displayed by the entire workforce of the Commission and prays that 2022 will be better than previous years.
He emphasized on the value and importance of teamwork which is the main goal and achievement of an organization.
Mr. Wale Soetan the chairman of the retreat committee from Finance Investment F&I) gave a brief insight into the theme of the retreat.
He stressed on the importance of synergy, which connotes; collaboration, hard work and consultation among staff towards the actualization of set goal.
The retreat was able to cover some topics among are Effective communication / Interpersonal Skills by Mrs, Folashade Coker CEO Coker and Castle Limited, She described Communication according to Oxford Dictionary as the process of exchanging thoughts, ideas, facts, emotion and opinion , also mentioning the 6 Men you must have in life , that is What, Why, When, Where, Who and How. Mr. Muyiwa Oshin talked Executive Director Finance and Investment LASPEC about ’’Financial Success through Synergy’’. There is a direct strength in working together, sharing ideas, improving one another, however the network and relationship we built over time, will determine our financial success according to him. How to Stay in Good Health was also taken by Mr. Tosin Awosika. He defined health by World Health Organization (WHO) as a complete state of physical, social, and mental wellbeing, not merely the absence of infirmity or disease. To be productive to the organization, there is need for us to stay healthy. He talked about some of the symptoms of physical and mental ill health which include feverish conditions, poor concentration, weight loss, poor memory, fatigue, back aches, poor judgment, confusion etc. He advised everyone to take advantage of the health insurance plan put in place for Lagos state civil servants.
The Director-General emphasized the importance to continuously sensitize the public on all programs and activities of the agency, such as the use of Social media, Radio and print media, to inform Retirees and citizenry of the State on Government’s policies and programs on pension matters.
